SDUSD Teacher Chris Ahrens Honored as California High School Adapted Physical Education Teacher of the Year
Chris Ahrens has been named the High School Adapted Physical Education Teacher of the Year.
Unified Sports for Special Olympics was held at Patrick Henry High School on Oct. 15 and proved quite a success.
There were five San Diego Unified School District schools participating this year for flag football (Crawford, Hoover, Mira Mesa, Morse, and Patrick Henry).
Thank you Julian and the whole Believe It Achieve It team for hosting the first event of the School year at Mt. Everest Academy! The amazing work you do to bring awareness and engagement to Physical Health and Health Education is a much needed avenue.
Two tracks will be offered, participants may attend one:
• Track A: The Special Olympics Motor Activity Training Program (MATP) - Grades K-12
Shout out to Lori Schmersal from Clairemont High for leading the charge to give students the opportunity to explore Unified Sports this past summer! Students from Marston Middle and Clairemont high were able to experience multiple day events/activities.
